candle care + safety

Treat your candles with care and they’ll return the love with longer, cleaner burns.

candle care

Trim the wick

Always trim your cotton wick to ¼” before every light. This small step makes all the difference in how your candle performs — helping it burn longer, cleaner, and without excess soot. A wick that’s too long burns too hot, wastes wax, and can create smoke. Wick trimmers work best, but nail clippers will do in a pinch!

Burn time

For the best experience, burn your candle for up to 4 hours at a time.

Coconut apricot wax behaves differently than soy or paraffin — it may take a few burns before the wax fully pulls away from the sides. Don’t worry — as the candle burns lower in the vessel, the heat catches up and melts the remaining wax evenly.

Safety first

Read full safety instructions on the bottom of your box sleeve or on the bottom of your candle.

Never leave a candle burning unattended.

Keep away from drafts, pets, and little hands.

If the flame looks too tall or the container feels hot, blow it out, let it cool, trim the wick, and relight.

FAQS

Why is my flame too big?

If the flame is too high or the jar feels hot, blow it out, let it cool, trim the wick a bit shorter, and relight.

Why is my flame too small or struggling to stay lit?

If your wick is trimmed too short, the flame may drown in wax. Let the candle cool, then gently remove a small amount of wax around the wick before relighting.

What are scent notes?
  • Top notes → The first impression (what you smell when you first light or sniff the candle cold).
  • Middle notes → The heart of the fragrance, revealed after the top fades.
  • Base notes → The deepest scents that emerge as the candle burns and reaches a full melt pool.

Why coconut apricot wax?

Our wax is a luxurious, clean-burning blend — toxin-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. It has a creamy, smooth finish and is made from renewable, plant-based resources. It’s also biodegradable and considered more sustainable than paraffin or soy.

Why cotton wicks?

We use lead-free cotton wicks designed for a smooth, steady burn. No toxins, no heavy metals — just a safe and reliable flame every time.

What do “cold throw” and “hot throw” mean?

Cold throw → How strong the fragrance smells unlit.

Hot throw → The fragrance released as the candle burns.

A full melt pool (when melted wax reaches all sides of the jar) gives the strongest hot throw.

Are your candles clean burning?

Absolutely! We use paraben & phalate free, clean-burning ingredients so you can feel good about what you’re bringing into your space.
